How might the farmer command the entire autonomous fleet
in 2035?
STAG is an immersive command center that allows farmers to remotely manage and interact with autonomous fleets through a real-time digital twin.

Digital Twin
An Immersive 3D Digital View of the farmland, allowing the user to virtually enter the field and interact with autonomous machines.

Authorize Override
A critical safety control that activates when the system's autonomy is paused by an ambiguous obstruction. It transfers decision authority to the operator to visually confirm the risk and instantly resume the mission flow.

Field Grid
The primary 2D command map where farmers manage all active tasks and instantly track the color-coded status of every autonomous asset on the farm.

Allows the user to pan and zoom the dashboard view to easily look around the field and check the machine's current status and data feeds.

I found that by 2035, the U.S. population will reach 354.5 million, yet our agricultural workforce has shrunk by 60%.

With the average farmer now 58.1 years old and new machinery costs exceeding $500,000, the barrier for a new generation is nearly impossible to overcome.

To support these farms, we must evolve the role of the farmer. Today, one person is tied to a single machine through manual labor, by 2035, they can become a Fleet Supervisor.

This shift to human-led autonomy allows one operator to command an entire fleet, ensuring a resilient and sustainable food supply for the next generation.

John Deere is the global leader in agricultural technology, providing the essential machinery that has powered the world’s food system since 1837. By leveraging this established ecosystem, my design moves beyond traditional mechanical power to create a Digital Command Center.

Digital Twin
Users can select any active unit to enter a real-time digital twin view. This immersive perspective allows the supervisor to remotely monitor a machine’s exact environment and performance as if they were sitting in the cab.

Reflection
In future iterations, I would focus on the "Communication of Intent" between the AI and the farmer. While the current interface visualizes the fleet, the next step is evolving the system from a passive dashboard into an active partner.
